I dont know if sony actually funded any, they did have more 3rd party support on the ps3, and the ps2 was the king of jrpgs.

The problem for jrpg's now tho is that its a dieing genre. Sony arent even rushing to release the ps4 in japan as I dont think they have high hopes there.

With the 360 microsoft funded some jrpg's early on, most were very good, but after they failed to make a dent in the japan market it completely dried up. However those jrpg's were probably my favourite of the previous gen.

eg. vesperia was 360 only for the english release, ps3 version was only released in japan. ps3 has xillia, xillia2 and another 3rd tales game but imo vesperia betas them all and that was 360 only in the west.
lost oddysey funded by microsoft obviously 360 only.
blue dragon funded by microsoft 360 only.
ff13 and ff13-2 was multi plat.
star ocean 4 was timed exclusive for 360 as microsoft partially funded it, the ps3 version came later and is a bit overhyped as some parts of the game got nerfed.
etarnal sonata also timed exclusive for 360 due to microsoft funding, it was later released enhanced on the ps3, however again without microsoft this game probably wouldnt exist at all.

xillia, xillia2 ps3 only
ff10 hd ps3 only
kingdom hearts hd rerelease ps3 only

there is some more i not losting some multi plat some ps3, I have a few piled up still not played yet, but the jrpg balance on this past gen I think wasnt one sided to sony.

crazily some people dont like the idea microsoft are about to fund more jrpg's what these people dont realise someone has to fund these games and most japanese devs are almost bankrupt, even square enix is in trouble.
Plus its not hard to see why they all almost bankrupt, as most japanese games dont get westernised (japan market only) the ones that do are under supplied so the prices never drop, and they often arent available digitally. eg. no square enix games are on the PSN network for the vita. To me thats commercial suicide. Microsoft openly said its to keep the market diverse.

We all know this will be temporary, microsoft will fund jrpg's for a couple of years and then revert to western only games again, but we will get some good games out of it.
