I always seem to connect to a poxy server.

Been reading a little about VPN's but I don't know if when set up via the PC, whether it will encompass internet traffic from all devices (which would be necessary for it to be effective with consoles).

Is a proxy the same sort of thing?

Dunno. But surely this is the right place to ask? Not this particular forum of course. you don't get any knowledgeable guys about t'internet in here. But there must be someone here somewhere.

Yah, poxy servers. Like it! I've found quite a few of those too but maybe for different reasons though the more I read about the issues (that thread link you posted) the more I realise I've seen examples of that in my own gaming experiences.

Do you reckon it's worth finding out more about that lag switch thing? Might be interested myself if it gave me a leg up! Gotta be worth experimenting with just for educational purposes I guess.

It appears a proxy is a cheapass version of a VPN. I'm not interestsed in anonymity, just a longer route to server, say 70ms overall. Will PM you the details when I choose a provider.

Cool. You can get free proxys is all but I have no idea about setting them up. If you chose one in the US you'd get a nice 100-150ms and more latency. Ooh. Lovely! Might be a lot more than that though all things considered. I dunno

Good luck with the VPN. I'll be interested to hear how it's going. Guess they won't let you connect to games outside Europe on your PS4 then eh? I can play in the States or even Australia if I want. Ah. Life on a PC eh? Can't beat it.

White hat. White hat! Gotta be one to know what they're like y'know. Plus, it'd be nice to improve my game for a little while.

We'll since playing ghosts on my XBONE I've been having some seriously shocking rounds, now I'm not one to blame my connection as it's is very good and not super low latency like Nelster's but at times I'm losing every 50/50 and dying before I even manage to aim which seems a bit suspect at best.
Sometimes I'll watch the kill cams and. Ore often than not it's like they've seen me a second or two before I see them, I even get hit markers on hardcore game modes!
I've let my lad have a go and on previous COD's he's one of those that gets 40+ kills to less than 20 deaths every time but not on ghosts.
So at the minute I'm putting it down to being a new game and not connection but as I said at times it just feels that I was never gonna kill these guys even if I was given a days notice that they were gonna be there!!!

Called failing Eye site matey and old age ? Ask Spook and Nelly about it they give you some good gaming tips has something to do with Horlick's i think and Tena for men so you don't have to keep putting down the controller to relieve yourself every 5 minutes

You may be onto something there Timey but with me only being 34 I don't think I'm quite there yet
