Anyway child of light landed, was greeted with some box with some art work in it ,a stupid keyring that I have chucked in the bin as it doesn't light up as intended like the thing that follows you in the game.

Play the game you will catch my drift.

Now for the game....I thing of beautiful rendered art work with some lovely musical effects and a absolute joy to play....I really am so glad I took the plunge and bought it .

What I wish I hadn't of done is buy this deluxe version that is basically a waste of time and money,I actually thought it was a hard copy of the game, but I have had to digitally download it with the code provided.

Anyway the games a gem and right up your street .wink

Anyway a little in the way of an update.

Played it for about 90 minutes this evening and its a lovely looking game, however as i expected for me anyway its ruined by the Final Fantasy type QTE when you take turns to cast spells and such.

for me this at present has now become a frustrating chore after the two people i have in my party constantly lose the battles time and time again with very little in the way of HP and MP to compete against some of the monsters i have just encountered.

Now I'm not going to say it isn't well balanced as its probably me as i don't really know how to play these games and when you have to go through menu with confusing crafting methods and all that sort of stuff it quickly to me becomes tiresome and a little boring .

I could be doing something wrong as I'm not really that far into the game, but when you attempt to beat 3 snake like monsters and die 10 times on the trot it really does annoy the hell out of me and i very quickly lose focus.

Saying that I'm going to persevere a little more with the game as its lovely to look at and play,if only they had kept it as a simple platform type game it would have been magical, adding QTE for me was the wrong move because it could have worked without them and considering the game is 50% about doing these things then you get the picture.

when you do come across creatures you can sort of freeze them and bypass and get around them and progress through the levels, point is you are going to have to take on these foes to improve all your stats like MP/HP because like me your not going to last long with a maximum health at 45/45 when monsters have 200/200.

All i seem to be doing within seconds is using the heal function from either myself or my companion, and when i do this normally one of us on the next turn dies and that makes the battle even harder.

Im guessing its me and my dislike and lack of patience with these games,if your into Final Fantasy stuff and games of a similar nature then your in gaming heaven with this child of light.

But if you don't like your games to taxing and frustrating then stick well clear of this one unless you are used to the way these games play.

yeah I was going to ask how you got a boxed copy.

why is everyone else getting it on the 29th? yet amazon are shipping my code on the 30th?

regarding shopto they agreed was their blunder and they picking up the 360 tommorow(today) for full refund.

If the game has QTE then I agree that doesnt bode well, I hate QTE I feel its cheap. The videos I have watched I havent seen what looks like QTE, although I may have somehow missed it. Sadly many turn based jrpg type games seem to started adding QTE's for some odd reason. Sometimes its not that bad where you can ignore it, other times its very annoying where its basically a press to not die, eternal sonata e.g. has a QTE to block enemy attacks you have a split second to press the guard button and if you dont press it you often get killed in one hit. Thats an example of a very bad QTE. Until I play this game tho I cant offer what is an opinion based on my own experience of the game.

Just been watching this and I agree. It looks beautifully done, both audio and visuals, but the combat would bore me to tears.

As a platformer I reckon it could have been a little gem.
