They are only really harming themselves if they don't release for the PC - if they are worried about "piracy", then release through Steam or Origin, or if they really want to annoy people, Ubisoft...

Well I tried with the GeDoSaTo tool and without, observations are, it adds a bit of sharpness. Other points no comments yet.

Reason is in the game I am noticing massive graphical enhancements over the PS3/360 version, e.g. better lighting effects, can see reflections of things on the floor in chapter 2, definitely not there in console versions. Since I only tested a minute or so without GeDoSaTo I want to go back to that part of the game using only the default game details and see if those are enhancements from GeDoSaTo or if SE added it in.

Playing the game at 60fps feels weird tho, especially when cutscenes are at 30fps so sometimes cutscenes transition into in game scenes so jumping from 30fps to 60fps and 60fps feels like I am in fast forward, not as immerse. I am going to see if I can cap at 30fps as I think is an option for that in GeDoSaTo.

So my view has changed a bit, I agree now given how quick this GeDoSaTo tool implemented the ability to adjust resolution etc. I agree the devs should have put that option in game. Although I dont agree with all the hype over 720p vs 1080p; still. I will post back later about the extra lighting effects etc.

Also loading times on the PC are pretty much 0, which is a really nice feeling, on the consoles is lots of "now loading" and I am not even playing it of an ssd, just a single 3TB WD red drive.

Sounds like a tacit admission that high frame rates aren't as important as you have previously proclaimed? I've told you loads of times that 1080p 30fps locked is perfect.

The Order 1886 has amazing visuals at 30fps (as does DriveClub) and mimics the cinematic experience I suspect most of us would relate to. TLOU re-mastered is beautiful because of the increased resolution, not the increased frame rate.

A higher native resolution is undeniably better. You can argue it is not strictly necessary, but not that it isn't an improvement.

tested now, and the lighting affect is still there.

The loss of sharpness is only slight and have to look hard for it. I can see the fine detail in hope's hair e.g. its easily good enough.

My monitors native res is 1680x1050.

But without using that 3rd party tool gpu usage is about 1/5th So it seems to add extra stress to gpu for little benefit.

for me its about consistent framerates.

But I do prefer the feel of 30fps vs 60fps for sure, 60fps feels too fast.
