Or even RED Dead Redemption wink

I know I'm a fine one to talk and point out spelling typos .wink
I once knew a little red head who could offer anything but redemption.

Spelling wasn't her strongest suit either... wink

Great so the consoles are going to hold us back yet again. How long until PS5?
Why don't they make consoles upgradeable?
I think they need to move away from the current idea, it's too restrictive
I think a graphics card upgrade option would be nice, even as an externally connected unit of some sort. That would sort the people who buy for platform and exclusives out, from the people who would like regular performance increase but can't stand all that operating system nonsense. Steam have realised that, but we'll see if it gathers any momentum next year.

Here is a good comparisn video of the results of different settings on PC. I've not really seen one done quite so well and the gains are obvious even on a small phone screen.

For example, on my phone screen the higher "track detail" setting's weren't really discernible. The higher settings on AA and reflections showed very obvious improvements though. Textures on Ultra were obviously improved too, but a bigger screen would better highlight the texture differences and whether they were worthwhile.

I said to Timey the other night, I make a very real distinction between gaming and sims. I'm not interested in gaming on a PC. I literally can't be ars*d with settings on everything. Plug and play is why I buy consoles. But Project Cars is worth the extra hassle of setting up for me. I've got the hump already with the rotation settings on my F1 car, because hair pins require crossed hands and there isn't any easy way (it seems) to alter that on the consoles.

So get on with it Swanny and buy a PC and stop moaning about consoles and give us all a break.wink

For the amount your willing to spend on a PC i wouldn't get to excited.tongueyou can spend that amount on a top of the range Graphic card alone.

I spent £2000 on a Gaming Rig from Scan Computers and that was 12 years ago and its been on the scrap heap the last 6.

Ok Timey what's your time scale on the next PS/xbox being made?
The current gen are already getting old hat so I can't imagine them lasting another 5 years especially with how fast things are moving.
Maybe you don't think there will be any next gen consoles?

well nintendo are dumping the wii-u, new console in 2016, looks like they going the sega route and dumping all their users who brought a wii-u. When sega did this they failed so bad they stopped making consoles.

Its me who thinks there will be no next gen consoles smile sony will move to cloud. Microsoft seems to be moving a bit towards back to pc gaming and are trying to make their xbox an all in one entertainment centre so not focused on games.

Actually Swanny myself and Nelly was having a chat Friday afternoon and that question did arise.

We haven't after 2 years seen anything i would call mind blowing but The Witcher and Bloodborne and the next Naughty Dog Uncharted in 2016 will certainly be there in terms of Next gen

You see before this new upgrade both the playstation 3 and xbox 360 were around for 8 years which was the longest ever period between generations changing, one or two things will happen and the first is Nintendo forcing there hand because its common knowledge confirmed by Nintendo that they are developing another console and will talk about it in 2016.

And the second is Cloud Based gaming as thats were the future is and it will mean that they can develop what they want and it will be just like that in your living room and you wont have to worry about upgrades and graphical differences from high end PCs.

I still think we need a better uk based broadband infrastructure for the cloud thing to work and i think its a few years of.

My guess is Nintendo with there new stuff and what they do early 2016 with there announcement and release date,i feel Nintendo this time around will go for a more mature market and give up on the gimmick that is the Nintendo Wii and Wii U,that audience has evaporated and Nintendo are now the poorer of the 3 console makers.

They didn't even include a Adsl connection in there Wii U and there out of touch with what gamers require and how they adore online games, lots of developers shun there systems and this hurts Nintendo financially and its about time they got back on track.

So if they announce there system early 2016 with specs that blow both the playstation 4 and the Xbox One out of the window then the [censored] going to hit the fan and force both Microsoft and Sony hand.

But take it from me ,both are well aware of what Nintendo have in the pipeline and it would be totally foolish to wait around to see what Nintendo brings to the table.

My guess is both are already developing future consoles after hearing about Nintendo, what would really kick start a next generation war would be Sega rejoining the market, sadly i don't see this happening.

Oh and whatever happened to those steam Boxes......Anyone know ?,Anyone care? Anyone buying one ? and when if ever are they releasing them.

You see i don't agree with the fact they are dumping all there Wii U customers, its the developers who are giving up developing for a under powered console that shouldn't really have been released in the first place.

They released first to market which was a bonus but third party support and a system not really much better than a wii was never going to be around for the next 8 years.

Even there New Zelda has slipped into 2016 and games are very sparse on the Nintendo Wii U.

They have some excellent games on the Nintendo Wii U but sadly they are far and few between, and if there are multi platforms titles on all 3 systems then Nintendo version is always way inferior, not only that it turns up 6 months after the original release.........Example.......Watchdogs
