I am not so in love with it now, this is more like skyrim and oblivion than DA:I, is a lot of grinding for coin etc.

Still a good game, but I do prefer DA:I.

Also I been toying with the graphics settings, ultra is very under whelming, its visuals are only on par with skyrim which is nearly 5 years old. But after enabling hidden settings, it looks a lot more like the E3 footage although I can only just about manage 30fps with E3 like visuals. I turned it down again after and settled for sort of in the middle but was interesting how much visual quality was hidden from the in game menu settings.

Western rpg's and jrpg's have done a swip swap with each other. In the past 10 years ago jrpg's were grind fests and slow paced battles, now western rpg's is more grinding, and modern jrpg's are much faster paced real time battles.

This game is a lot of wondering around without battles or quests and before I turned the visuals up the ground was like an empty wasteland with lack of grass, vegetation etc.

Also the world isnt all live and breathing like skyrim and oblivion, in those 2 games, it remembers things that happened on other side of the map, on this game you only have to walk about 30 steps and turn back round then everything is reset.

Hmmmm....hidden settings.

Yet the developer seems to think it didn't run very well.

there is various settings adjustable in a config file.

The dev's have now said they adding even more in a future patch.

80% of the settings barely affect performance.

The other 20% do but only if you set them to very high values.

I was averaging 25fps at 1050p using the maximum values provided on the nvidia guide, I then after turned down the shadow resolution a bit to make it do 30fps reasonably comfortably. It looks way better than the in game ultra settings.

And i should have given Dragon Age more of a chance because i think its a far superior game if you ask me,intact i have just got that game back and The Witcher is no more .

Yes I'm not a lover of massive rpg games but i agree DA.I looks and plays better.

is already some good mods for this, increase exp gain, fairer selling prices, higher drop rates etc. so game is much less grindy, and some visual mods as well.
