if we compare nintendo and sega (back when it was on its last console) the difference is as you say they have the 3ds doing well, but also nintendo are cash rich, loads of money in the bank, so they can eat up the failure of the wii-u.

Also if a ps5 and a new xbox comes out within 2 years that is one big mess of a situation, the ps4 and xbox1 are both barely out the door and that will drag even more people to pc gaming (note I predicted people moving to pc and mrnelster has indeed gone out and brought one, he even ended up going intel for his cpu going up against his own advice). The advantage is obvious, if we look at the pc mrnelster brought, in my view he will find that amd380 lacking, but if he does he doesnt need to go out and buy a new pc, he can just replace that part, and sell the old one.

For sure i definitely will not be buying the NX console, I dont forget things like the wii-u been abandoned. Nintendo can say goodbye to my hard earned cash after that debacle.

imo his cpu is fine, its pretty much the same as mine which is a 4670k. He should overclock it to 4.3+ ghz tho.

GPU is clearly a touchy one as people have strong opinions on the matter.

If i was going AMD I would get a 295x2 or one of the fury gpu's. A 290 is similar in performance to a gtx 970 but due to software optimisation issues it often runs worse in games with frame drops. If you go nvidia and are happy with 1080p a gtx 970 is still the best card in my view. But if you want 4k, amd you want maybe a fury x, their new premium card or for nvidia a 980ti. Note the 290 in that review is much more powerful than a 380.

Im not buying any PC components ,its just way over my head,I'm to long in the Tooth and dam lazy to be interested.

Like i said previously,the only possible interest i may have come November is the Steam Machines and thats about as far as some PC contraption gets in my house.

A Pc is for a office environment,and I'm not going back down that route again,yes you can rig them to your Televisions but i doubt very much her indoors is going to approve of what the Living room looks like after that.

Its like Spaghetti junction behind my Television already and a PC isn't going to improve the situation .

Nar i will stick to console gaming as it gives me plenty of kicks,my new 360 Rocks with Gears 3 which cost £1.99 but is a free download for 360 people in mid July apparently .

You predicted people going out and buying a PC because you apparently knew the console specs were a fail. When in reality the PS4 has sold by the bucket load and I've already explained repeatedly that I'm only buying a PC for a triple screen racing rig.

One game, the new "Dirt Rally" simulation has brought that purchase forward, no other reason. I will still be playing Project Cars, Dying Light and FC4 etc. on the PS4 with my buddies. I might be tempted to buy Project Cars on PC to play with Kila if he wants somebody to lap, but have no real need to have it on the PC until I get my triple screen set up going in the future.

My whole argument has been based on bang for buck, as is easy for everybody else to read. I bought, (as stated in this thread), an i5 4690k because they recommended the FX8370E in such a small case, as it runs much more efficiently than the 8350/70. I clearly state that as this "E" version would only save me 20 quid, I was better off going with the Intel for the future OC option. I have never said the FX's were better than the 4690k, just better bang for the buck, for most gaming requirements. There are plenty of respected bloggers on the net advising newcomers of exactly this point. JayZTwoCents/LinusTechTips/TekSyndicate etc.

I won't be disappointed with the new 380. It's a 285 with a few extra features. I know what I'm buying. I don't need to spend the extra 75 quid on a GTX970 when the 380 will play my driving games at 60fps. I'm not interested in the likes of The Witcher games.

I've had my 4690k @4.5Ghz and not going above 40oC under full load even in this case.

Nice case I am still using a old Chieftec Dragon but think I would go for a Lian Li next time, have always liked them.
