thanks.

I am not sure what your problem is, but I am not surprised the posts are on the evga forum, my own evga card has power delivery issues as well and I resolved it by tuning in the precision X software, basically what I did was to set +25mv power and cap the power utilisation to 95%, it doesnt affect performance much thankfully and I have had no issues since.

However gigabyte 970 cards have a good reputation, I suggest leave gpu-z running in the bacvkground with background monitoring enabled when you play your games, one of the graphs monitors for voltage issues, and if the card is having to throttle back, it will tell you the reason. You would be looking for what that graph is doing at the time of the driver crash.

My guess is a PSU power voltage issue.

Sorry had to cut this post short as, as I was typing it a friend rang up and he wants me to help him put his new PC together smile

The spec is a 970 with a 8 core AMD cpu. smile

I had some CTD's (crash to desktop).

Not had any since I made the change. smile

My card is a evga 970 FTW, I did initiate a step-up to a FTW+ (fixed voltage regulator) but with very high shipping charges I couldnt be bothered in the end and am glad now I have a fix. For a gigabyte to have this issue to me seems unusual. I would consider RMA'ing it if you sure your psu is fine.
