Here's a list of Steam linux games there's quite a lot there but nowhere near what you can get with Windows so I think if you want to PC game seriously you still have to have Windows.

I have been using Ubuntu as my main OS for years but not done much gaming apart from a few linux ones like tuxracer. Very happy with it for general computing though would definitely say give it ago.

I tell you what trance. There's a hell of a lot of decent looking content there in just the first 3 or 4 pages. If you get off the big AAA hype train, there's some fun to be had I reckon.

Example: Alien Vs Predator - £2-62

From 2010, I bet my card will max that to death and I won't be saying "Oooh, what awful 2010 graphics!" It could be a lot of fun, even if just for a weekend. I need to get away from Origin and have a good rustle through the Steam Library! smile

I notice The Witcher 3 is still £50 on Steam and £40 for NBA 16 so it's no cheaper than consoles with some AAA's. Cheaper in the supermarket I bet.

What's wrong with asking about using Linux for gaming?
I reckon you need to take the plunge mate. I was blown away at how well Battlefront looks (maybe it's not that graphically intensive, but the texture detail is mental), almost photo realistic even on the survival demo. I think Kila is running it at Ultra 1440p on his 970 so I reckon that spec will blow you away, you just need to be happy with the supplier you choose and go for it! smile

I wouldn't buy Star Wars Battelfront for £4.90 as to me it simply falls in the same category as Cod and is just run and gun total garbage with nice graphics.

Isn't it funny now how the mighty Cod Franchise has fallen, nobody even talks about what once was the most anticipated game of the year, its out in under a month and yet there is very little media talk about it and that tells you something.

Black Ops 3 will be another epic Activision failure and only a intense Zombie Mode will save it and thats the only part of the game that slightly interests me even though at present its not a game i will be buying having been totally underwhelmed the last 3/4 years and have traded them all within a week of release.

Hmmmm. Wrong man to ask bud. I really fancy the BenQ monitors but that's just from the marketing, not first hand experience

If you're going for a GTX 970, ask Kila what he paid for his 1440p jobby.smile
