ff7 remake fooage

I am not a fan of these teaser videos with more FMV than actual gameplay but here is some footage of the new battle system albeit short.

I am looking forward to the game but I really wish they kept turn based in there even if just as an option.

I actually enjoyed the FF's on the original ps but not touched them since!

I didn't know they were getting rid of turn based battle for this, that seems a bit odd as the older FF's were always turn based and it was one of the things that added to their charm. I can't get onto the video from where I am now but I will check it out later, have they left the Materia system in or has that been overhauled too?

no idea on the materia the footage is extremely short, maybe 5 seconds at best. It only showed in battle footage, rest was FMV's.

It looks like they adopting a lightning returns and crisis core hybrid system.

With it been real time battle, I cannot see how certian skills such as counter and auto ability will work out, which sadly suggests the game mechanics will lose a lot of depth for sake of real time action to appease casual gamers.

Square Enix seem to think most people want the remake for the story, not the gameplay.
