PS3 reset

Im hoping to trade in my Slimline PS3 for a PS4 but wanted to make sure there as no data left behind. I have started off a PS3 system restore but it says time to complete is 7 hours!

Is this normal?

Yeah it takes a very long time to completely wipe it,I'm guessing your playstation 3 slim isn't worth much more than £30 or have you received an offer you can not refuse.
