I think what Nelly says is also truth and think that its to little to late to change the specifications of the Neo,but i also think that Microsoft have forced Sony Hand into another console war in 2017.

There is no way on earth Sony are going to let Microsoft release a console 40% more powerful than there Neo that is rumoured to release later this year,a date I'm still sceptical about as for me at least this would have surfaced at E3.

Personally i think Sony Was somewhat surprised at Microsofts reveal of 2 new consoles in the space of 15 months,the Slim in August and the apparent release of the Scorpio November 2017.

So with the Nintendo Nx releasing next March,the Xbox Slim this August,Possibly the Neo sometime after and then a massive upgrade in the Scorpio at the end of 2017 i think Sony may now have to counteract and release another more powerful playstation sometime around when Scorpio releases.

If it has to be delayed and is later than the Scorpio you can bet your bottom dollar Sony will promote whats coming to affect Scorpio sales

Imagine when the Scorpio comes out and then Sony says it has something twice as powerful on the market shortly after,imagine the damage that is going to do to the Microsoft platform after trying desperately to claw back what they had with the 360.

So i think in the next 15 months or so we could have around 4 console releases if Sony don't want Microsoft stealing sales from them.

The president and global chief executive of Sony Interactive Entertainment, Andrew House, said he was �surprised' by the announcement of Scorpio in an interview with the Financial Times. Instead he insisted more details on the recently confirmed Neo will only be revealed once there are enough compelling features to make the console appealing.

That definitely suggests the specs are not final so maybe they are scrapping current plans and doing a redesign.

So no one's going to buy any of them until we know which is best. Pretty stupid of them

Problem is Trance these units have to be designed and created and then go into production months in advance of a general release so in some respects I'm with Nelly on this one and think its to little to late for Sony to do much with the Neo other than cancel it altogether and go back and compete with the upcoming Scorpio and give something even more powerful than that unit.

They may be able to up the Ram possibly but i think to compete with a Scorpio it needs a complete revamp.

Lets just say they release it as it is sometime this year which Sony Have virtually said its going to happen,12 months down the line the Scorpio comes out,what do Sony do then ,because i just can not see them letting Microsoft claw gamers to there platform from Sony,and if Sony don't act then Microsoft will have the powerful hardware and people will drift away from Sony and want the better spec,just like they abandoned the Xbox One in favour of the more powerful playstation 4 that has better quality games at higher resolutions ,so its obvious gamers care about specifications and which has the better games.

So you did Don't think we have heard the last of all this palaver to be honest,if i may make a prediction........Sony will cancel the Neo this year and change the specifications.

Unless its a essential piece of kit to go along side there Virtual Reality releasing October,something they said wasn't actually required and it would all work just as well on the playstation 4.
