All backwards compatibility games are digital so need to be downloaded

Not strictly true as I can play gears of war 3 I think it is from disc!

No you have to use the 360 disk to confirm you own the game if you don't buy the backward compatible version digitally .

All BC games are downloaded, If you have the disc you just put the disc in and it then sends you to a download for the game, You then need the disc in the XB1 to prove you have the game (that's your kind of licence to play it if you didn't purchase the 'proper' digital version), If you had or buy the digital version then no disc needed.
