Forza 6 Apex

Downloaded this free on PC thanks to a heads up from kila months ago, but only just got around to playing it.

First grumble: it hides the video options menu. I almost binned it off straight away as a tearfest. Still, looks really nice now, when all maxed out.

Second grumble: can't seem to record gameplay with Raptor/PlayTV.

Third grumble: you can't hide the UI on replays which is the first time I've come across that.

Really enjoyed the first couple of hours, even though it was on controller, so I might get the wheel set up tonight and check it out.

So I didn't get a chance to set the wheel up, and I cant remember how long ago I played a racing game with a controller, but I really like this game. The sensation of speed is fantastic.

Top Gear test track

Never driven this track before, but I set up without any turn or brake markers and managed to get round. Shows I spent far too much time watching the Stig back in the good old days!

It looks really, really nice maxed out. Managed to record it using Game DVR (never heard of it before!) after rooting about in the Xbox app. And I've now managed to hide the replay UI.

Only remaining grumble is the constant tyre squeal, but Forza isn't the only game with that issue.

I see you're still using the cars in front as an extra set of brakes. Good job damage is off

Nah it was set on easy and they do daft early braking! damage was on.

Have you tried the reasonably priced car around the top gear test track?
I've always wanted to play the Forza games but have always been too old for an xbox

W10 is the only way! Just turn the spy features off and it's probably no worse than previous iterations.

Now you should buy Horizon 3!!

Been thinking about it, but will probably wait a while. Got Gears and COD 4 on the way to keep me busy. Maybe at Christmas!

In some respects yes but without the tacky story and far far superior in every way!!
