Can't believe how high RAM prices have gone! I was thinking of doubling my RAM to 16 GB but not at the current price, last year I got a single 8GB dimm for £35 now we are talking around £70. Ouch. Think 8 GB is fine for 1080p gaming anyway but thought more wouldn't harm.

I feel your pain. I'm waiting for that to drop, as well as GPU prices.

Pretty sure I remember upgrading PCs in the earlyish 90's when buying 4MB of RAM would be around £30 a meg. RAM prices have always fluctuated - after the Japan earthquake they went up significantly as most of the RAM was produced there - not sure what has happened now for prices to increase again?

I think the current high prices are just down to supply and demand, have read that there will be increased production in 2018 which will hopefully bring prices down.

Think my first PC in 98 was 64 mb which I later upgraded to 128 mb

My first computer had 4.5KB.

My first PC had 640KB.

It is video RAM you need for resolution not system RAM, the difference between 8 and 16GB of RAM is negligible at different resolutions.

Thanks. I should have known that because that's one of the reason I decided on getting a 4 GB 1050 ti. Main reason was obviously the budget

I run the same card mate, perfect for 1080p gaming.

Yeah I am happy with it, has been handling the games I play fine. Most demanding has been BF 1 but I still get 50-60 FPS most of the time (occasionally dipped into the 40's) on medium settings. I have a i3 6100 so that may be limiting it considering the large maps and 64 players. It feels smooth while playing though which is the important thing.
