New ISP query

[link to this post]

Not too sure of the correct terminology but at my request my current ISP "capped" my maximum sync speed to ~5.5meg to keep the noise figure up and make my line more stable. If I change to another ISP will this "cap" remain or will I have to go through the whole procedure again?

they did ? or they just increased the target SNR margin ? The settings shouldn't change when you migrate, but things can go wrong.

As I said, not sure of the correct terminology but increasing the target SNR margin sounds familiar. Whatever it was the end result was the same

Thanks anyway Phils!!!
