test speed different to what router reports

[link to this post]

Hi there
Im on max adsl with BT option 3 using the BT home hub. my router reports this
Downstream 4,832 Kbps
Upstream 448 Kbps

The speed tester consistently reports
Down 3.6
up 334
sorry, I cant find where the home hub details line noise etc.
Im currently plugged into the hidden socket on my BT master socket to eliminate dodgy extensions.
Iv tried with different filters etc. If I need to provide any more info please say what I need!
Any ideas?

Nothing wrong there...
A connection (sync) speed of 4832kbps will put you on a 4Mbps IP profile.
On a 4Mbps IP profile, the maximum possible data speed will be around 3.7-3.8Mbps, so you're only 0.1-0.2Mbps off that.
The typical maximum upload speed for a 448kbps connection is around 370kbps, so you're nearly there on that one as well.

Happy New Year, people!

Giving UKFSN/Entanet a try
DL Sync 4096kbps
UL Sync 448
