General Question

I'll try to make this short...

Basically we had a power cut this morning at 8:45am, and the recorded information we called said it should be up within 3 hours. It ended up coming up before then, however since we had it, and it's come up, we seem to have power surges (or something else) but the lights seem to flicker very quickly but all TV's etc stay on.

Now, the internet is another thing. The wireless network i am on still stays up however i seem to lose the connection to the internet. I am having to switch the router off from the mains socket and re-plugging it back in. Not a problem as it then works, but i was wondering if this is a known problem that's happened to somebody before or if anybody knows what is happening?

I have spoken to somebody else in the cul-de-sac we live in and they also seem to be having these 'power surges' so it's not a electrical problem with the house i'd have thought.

That sounds like brief mains interruptions rather than power surges. Not uncommon in windy conditions. Routers seem to be quite sensitive to such things while other equipment is unaffected. I doubt if there's anything wrong, and you just have to grin and bear it. A much more substantial power supply for the router might avoid it happening, if you're up for experimenting.
