Ringwire(2nd Question)

[link to this post]

Hi,

I didn't want to ask my question in the same thread as the other one, as I thought it wasn't allowed.

So I have removed the Ring Wire (Orange 3) cable from my Master Socket (ADSL Faceplate socket)

Do I have to remove the ringwire from every other socket as well?

Thanks

No you don't, although there are people here who will tell you that you do. When you're using filters there's no connection to the ring wire at the slave socket end, so disconnecting it from the slave socket makes no difference.

Applies to most but not all filters, I believe.

(ADSL Faceplate socket)
I hope that does not mean what i think it may mean.
IF YOU HAVE THE FILTERED FACE PLATE removing the bell wire will stop any phones on extensions ringing.

Most modern phones don't need the bell wire. Apparently a few do. Very old phones also need it.
