MAC Address

[link to this post]

I'am going to move from Pipex to Sky bundle it all in with
phone and so on.
I want Sky Max no problem doing the maths dump BT line
go on Sky Talk I save a bundle.
My question is why do we really need a MAC the BT line
and Pipex are in my name, and Sky is in the wifes, so I
guess the easy transition will not apply as the MAC will
be my name and I would like it all in her name. Does anyone
understand what I'am on about ?

Not sure what you are on about...but yes you want to use the Mac it does not really matter about the name issue.

If you don't use the Mac you will be liable for a cease fee from Pipex, and an activation fee possibly from Sky for the broadband, get the Mac and give it to Sky, end of story.

To the OP, I agree with Andrew, but would add that the MAC relates to the line so far as I know and doesn't care about names.

So get the MAC, and order Sky in your wife's name using that MAC.

Should be fine.

A "MAC Address" (Media Access Control Address) is a unique code that's applied to network adapters.
A "MAC" is a Migration Authorisation Code which is used as a tool for implementing seamless migration between ISP's.
