IMAP and Clara.net

I wonder if anyone can help me. Does anyone know whether it is posible to set up the email server at Clara.net for IMAP operation. The only example given is setting up Outlook for POP email.

What happens if you try using IMAP?

Let me start by saying that I have little experience with email protocol so if I am being stupid just tell me so!

In Outlook if I was setting it for POP (which works) for the 'Incoming Mail Server' I would enter - "pop.clara.net"

I guessed for IMAP that the sensible thing to try for the incoming mail server would be "imap.clara.net"

With set like this the error message is returned is "Host imap.clara.net cannot be found"

Any ideas?

No, you are not being stupid, and I'm sorry if my post suggested that.

From your post you have already tried. I'd also try mail.clara.net.

John, There was no suggestion of that in your reply. I know when I don't know and at the moment I will try anything. I will try with 'Mail' in a couple of moments. I have contacted Clara support but had no reply....

DNS can't find clar.anet, but can find clara.net, so you are probably right!
