Netgear Error stats

[link to this post]

Can someone more knowledgeable have a look at the figures below and possibly explain
why are there more upstream errors than downstream errors over the same time period. Does this indicate local problems or is it normal

Downstream (Rx)
SF: 38144
SF Errors: 2
Reed Solomon: 0
RS Corrected: 0
RS Un-Corrected: 0
HEC: 0
Errored Seconds: 2
Severe ES: 0

Upstream (Tx)
SF: 30982
SF Errors: 63356
Reed Solomon: 0
RS Corrected: 0
RS Un-Corrected: 0
HEC: 59735
Errored Seconds: 36829
Severe ES: 349

More interference in the upstream frequencies seems to be the predictable answer.

Have you tried logging your stats with routerstats? http://www.vwlowen.co.uk/internet/files.htm

A high number of upstream errors can be indicative of a missing or faulty microfilter. Is every item connected to your phone line connected via a filter ? That includes Sky boxes, telephone answering machines, faxes, as well as phones.

Yes, I have a ADSL Nation faceplate so everything is filtered and the sky box phone connection is disconnected.

Yes,those stats were from Routerstats logging the Netgear which shows both upstream and downstream HEC and error secs. I've swapped to a 2wire but it appears to only show the downstream errors. Are the causes of interference the same as normally quoted eg central heating etc or can they be from the PC or router?
