Re: help needed with line stats

If by bit capped you mean downloads go no faster than 0.5Meg at peak times, but modem is connecting at a good speed, all one can presume is that the letter you had is Orange implementing a Fair Usage policy.

If part of a FUP then fiddling by you will accomplish nothing

I think they probably do, if the poster is doing things officially then emailing [email protected] to go through the verification process will avoid these questions, and mean people will be more comfortable sharing info.

So do I. But Seb's already emailed Orange once about this which they have apparently ignored.

It's no good telling people that ISP reps can be identified by their tag if certain ISPs are going to ignore the system. Either he is in a position to speak for Orange support in which case Orange should arrange for him to have an isp tag, or he should not be posting in that manner.

I don't think anyone doubts the particular poster, but the point jelv makes in this post is highly relevant.

Orange support could get a load of spam requests for all sorts of things, courtesy of these forums, if someone chose to do as described. Particularly if an "offer" is picked up by google.

Signature was too commercial, resolve your signature and you can continue to post. Otherwise its just another spammer.
