As some one said they shouldn't get involved but they have,
Mandelscum is only involved for personal gain, years from now we will quite possibly find out he is in a top job for one of those music or film companies or some connected business unless it's for some tax free wonga, and this power craving government wanting control of the net
well the die hard pirates won't stop uploading/downloading content, simple,
block the sites,= use of proxies or vpn tunneling use of both the isp would not have any reason to stop/block as are not directly connected to file sharing ect, all this will do is simply hide it,
To speak hypothetically if it was 100% effective and no one was able to download such content as they currently do,
It would be the end of the line for some isp's as customers would be canceling or not continuing to subscribe after their contract term was up,assuming they couldn't get out of such early,as the new measures would constitute a change in service
As for the once again bias view of the bbc again, with the wording"illegal" constantly even before the bill is actually passed, the blind leading the blind i would say sums up some of the comments made by the ministers and one musician who claims that people will suddenly start buying music again, yeh right, err what with?
Plus there would be not much call for faster broadband either, I hope should it get fully passed, all isp's fight it tooth and nail in the courts if necessary as file sharing is not a criminal act so why should isp's give a dam? all this amount's to is Internet dictatorship never mind censorship
Clearly an ill thought out plan not surprising with this governments track record
