The A&B terminals on the rear of the faceplate and the ADSL outlet on the front both serve the same function. The only problem that I can see with your set-up is your cable is probably stranded and pushing stranded cable into IDC terminals is far from ideal as the blades in an IDC terminal are designed to cut through to a solid wire.

You seem to have made a successful connection so there is no reason why you shouldn't leave it like that, I would avoid removing the faceplate as the connection with stranded wire may dislodge easily.
