Well where are you, i.e. what exchange?
If you can get an ADSL2+ service you may get up-to 12Mbps sync.
Not really sure what you are asking! You have the maximum connection speed for a ADSL service so will see the maximum speed, ~7Mbps throughput if you are with a good ISP.

sorry my Exchange name: Hillington
Exchange code: EAHIL
and i just been put on adsl max and my profile is 500 just need to know if it will get better

Register (or login) on our website and you will not see this ad.

Right so very small exchange with no LLU etc. So 8Mbps (ADSL MAX) is the best you can get.
Because of the rubbish way BT do things you may have to wait up-to 10 days for the BRAS profile to change to match your connection speed. Once that happens you'll see faster than 500kbps.

ok tyvm for info very fast
Uh uh .
IP Profile is up to 5 days to change, and a large increase should be within hours. It should never have been 500 either, but as you say etc.
Ten days is the minimum for high SNRM to adjust downwards.
Please can you run the BT Performance Tester and copy/paste the results down as far as the end of the figures?
Which ISP are you with?
Thanks for the correction mate!
I never seem to be able to remember the [censored] way BT do things. The IP profile system was modified a long time ago wasn't it? I'm (almost) sure it used to be 10 day.

my stats this morning
Download speedachieved during the test was - 509 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 50-500 Kbps.
Additional Information:
Your DSL Connection Rate :8128 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 448 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 500 Kbps
and i am with aol
There is something wrong there as the profile should never start from 500. Were you on a 512kbps connection before?
If it doesn't rise by tomorrow morning then you will need to get onto them. Unfortunately unless you are very lucky they will refuse to do anything till after 10 days from the regrade .
Get back to us if that happens. There are people here who have contacts, and we can ask them if they can help.
As 5km said, that is a great line. You will get a 7150kbps profile once it is sorted.

Get onto them tomorrow and tell them you have a "Stuck Profile" of 500kbps. They need to get it unstuck. Get politely insistent if they tell you it is in 10-day training, as in this case that is irrelevant.
If they say profiles take up to 5 days to rise, that is also irrelevant here, as large jumps are supposed to happen within hours, and you can't get much larger than the one you expect.
They should be able to see those speed test results, but have them ready to refer to.

just phoned aol cant do anything for 7 days
That is nonsense. As I said, insist, as politely as you can as getting irate is counter-productive.
It is nothing to do with the 10 day training. It is a stuck profile.
Trouble is those are quite rare these days, they used to be common on a move from fixed rate, so they won't have seen one before.

I'm afraid that is probably just normal AOL congestion, that you wouldn't have noticed before. They are well know for it.
Just check the IP Profile on the BT speed test sometime. If that is high and throughput speed is low then it is AOL.
If connection speed and/or IP Profile are low then it is probably your end now the initial problem has been fixed.
It takes some doing to get below BT.
