Hi im new here and my broadband is with BT. I was wondering what are CRC Events, HEC Events and Error Seconds (Local/Remote): as the numbers seem to get higher the longer my router is conncected and is this normal

Generally as a line gets longer (yours is reasonably lengthy at nearly 50dB attenuation) you'll see more of these errors on the line.

CRC is "cyclic redundancy check". The first lines of the wikipedia article explains it pretty well.

Similarly, HEC events and Errored seconds

From the errored seconds we can see you experience some sort of error approximately 7% of the time you're connected. Note that an error doesn't necessarily occur for an entire second so in reality the rate is far lower.

You'll likely find the errors will appear at a slow rate when the line is idle and will increase more rapidly if you're downloading at the full 5mbit you receive.

In short I wouldn't really worry. It's normal and you're numbers aren't too high. If you were seeing many thousands of errors over a relatively short period of time it might indicate some sort of issue. When I first got ADSL many moons ago I remember seeing comedy numbers like 28,000 CRC errors and the like - the connection was still pretty good!

Odd stats. I don't understand how the error seconds can be larger than the number of errors.

Downloading or idle the incidence of errors should not change. The ADSL line is always communicating at the same rate home to exchange and CRC/HEC/FEC errors will always be generated/detected.

Here is my ADSL List Stats is there anythink in my stats i should be worried about?
I play alot of online games and i seem to get a very high ping/tracert results.
( compared to my old house that is on the same round lol ) - Both with BT

What router have you? These is a way of analysing errors with the right router.

Those Error Secs are high. That's 1 every 5 secs
