PRTG and Home Hub 3

[link to this post]

I've been using PRTG Traffic Grapher succesfully for a number of years now but I have just switched to BT and their HH3, now I cant get it to work.
I think the problem has something to do with SNMP. With my old Netgear router I had to telnet into the router then enable the SNMP and a few other steps.
Is the HH3 SNMP capable, and has anybody got this software running with the HH3
Thanks
Jeff

Also, on the HH config page I have a list of connected devices, all of which I recognise except one, a Physical Connection called udhcp 1.7.3. Any ideas what this is?

What's the point?

They take up a lot of room, are meaningless the next day, and who the heck wants to know smile ?

Posters cannot post images, as part of sig or otherwise. It avoids a lot of problems over inappropriate images

You can create a sig image using the speedtester on this site http://www.thinkbroadband.com/speedtest.html

What's its IP address? Is that on your network?

I think the Revo box allows your other devices to stream from it. It's probably giving out IP addresses to those devices. If so, then it's nothing to worry about.

I saw some posts on the BT forums about the SNMP port being open on the HH3 to allow remote monitoring by BT?!

It's not the Revo, I switched it off and the udhcp is still showing.

As soon as I delete it, it just reappears in the list as Unknown-00-0B-3B-D3-94-0A.
It wouldnt be anything to do with my homeplugs would it?

More interestingly, it might not be the homeplugs!
I put the IP address into my browser and it opened up the homeplugs configuration page, so I assumed that was it. Looking at the list of devices though, none of the mac addresses seem to match up. Strange?

SNMP open on the WAN side for access/monitoring by BT I believe not aware of it working LAN side

Nothing stopping you from using other hardware though

That's what shows as attached to the HH, but if you look on the image of the homeplug config page I posted up, it is different.
Dont doubt you, just trying to get my head round it.

So I dont have to use the HH then?
If so, any recommendations for a good replacement router, reasonably priced.
Really want to get the PRTG software running again, it's brilliant for monitoring the speed and bandwith that EVERY device attached to the router is using
