Is anyone else having to wait over 15secs for web pages to load on the BBC or a failure to load the page, this as far as i can see is affecting most of the related stuff I player although if the content actually loads it streams ,but not without a few pauses, the bbc is the only location i'm seeing this even though the latency when pinged seems normal sub 30ms ,
Is the bbc having problems ? there is no mention of it on their web site

Scottish Labour politician: The SNP are on a very dangerous tack. What they are doing is trying to build up a situation in Scotland where the services are manifestly better than south of the border in a number of areas.
Interviewer: Is that a bad thing?
Scottish Labour politician: No, but they are doing it deliberately.

I've been having problems with BBC all day.
Web site loading slowly and iplayer on freesat said there was no internet connection.
So what have we both got in common. I'm on O2 LLU (old premium) but use Open DNS.
Not had any problems with anything else or any other web site I've tried.
*edit*
it's not DNS as I have changed to Google DNS and the problem still exists.

... or peering issue and therefore something up with Linx?

We have received reports for poor connectivity to numerous web sites from our network. UPDATE: The engineers identified the problem to be with unbalanced traffic to one of our peering providers Be status link
My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk
My domains, website and mail hosting - Tsohost. Internet connection - IDNet Home Starter Fibre. Live BQM.

Weather it's within the isp's own network or with it's peering it's still within their control as they after all pay for the peering services, and they should not be solely reliant on only one company LINX as they appear to be,
And such peering problems don't excuse the isp from blame, the customer have a contract with the isp not the isp's peering providers
Than info on the status page is over 24hrs old ,without a resolution ,and yes i know it's a Sunday , but that isn't a valid excuse either, due to the very nature of how vulnerable ADSL and everything associated with it the internet is a 24/4 business , and all the big isp's should have their bases covered 24/7

Yeah still ongoing.
O2's support really is rubbish now:-
info:Welcome to O2. A Guru will be with you soon.
info:We're really busy right now. Thanks for waiting.
info:We're really busy right now. Thanks for waiting.
info:You're through to Guru Philip.
Philip:Hi I'm Philip. How can I help?
Tim:Is there a problem with peering through Linx? bbc.co.uk has been show/unresponsive for 2 days now and I believe some other sites are affected.
Philip:Is this on your phone?
Tim:no home broadband (old LLU home premium (Be*)
Philip:Thanks.
Tim:hence why i put in my land line number...
Philip:Since when you're facing this issue?
Tim:last 2 days, as stated.
Philip:Thanks.
Philip:Please give me your landline number.
Tim:01227******
Philip:Thanks.
Philip:Please can you tell me the 3rd and 4th character of the answer to your security question?
Tim:what's my security question?
Philip:place of birth
Tim:* and *
Philip:Thanks for the information. Please give me a few minutes while I check this for you.
Tim:ok
Philip:Thanks for waiting. I've checked the details and your Home Broadband connection wend down due to which you were unable to use some of the service.
Philip:I've update this now and you need to do a hard reset to sort the issue completely.
Philip:Please give me your email address, I'll send the steps to you.
Tim:went down? when?
Philip:It was a connection error I mean.
Tim:i went on holiday last week and turned it off if that's what you mean
Philip:Yes, this could be possible.
Philip:Please give me your email address, I'll send the steps to you.
Tim:********@gmail.com
Philip:Thanks.
Philip:Thanks for waiting. I've sent the steps to you.
Philip:Is there anything else I can help you with?
Tim:Well what you sent me doesn't help. I don't use the O2 router.
Tim:and anyway I'm sure there is a problem with Linx peering but you don't seem to be aware of this.

Just noticed this from the chat to Be* MD yesterday.
Q: Peering Problems?
A: We are aware and hope to have something in place in the next few months to solve this. .. that's really bad!

Q: Peering Problems?
A: We are aware and hope to have something in place in the next few months to solve this. .. that's really bad! I'm sure that something very similar was said the last time there was peering problems, so no progress really as the current bbc issues are related, So yet again several more months to wait, how unreasonable , & they are instant so far in using LINX public peering, problem is theres a lot more isp's using the same kit, sharing the available capacity so things such as streaming are unlikely to always be problem free
Perhaps they are not bothered or don't want to spend on peering it certainly gives that impression, even if this is not the case ,

New network has been underplan for a while, somewhere in the news we covered it Nov 2011 I think I'm no expert , but this bbc problem maybe down to lots of packetloss on several of the hops after the linx switch , and the destinations below
bbc.net.uk
bbc-vip021.cwwtf.bbc.co.uk is what i connect to everytime i go to the bbc
bbc-vip114.telhc.bbc.co.uk this only sometimes when it fails to load
How ever bbc.co.uk there is no packetloss ???
