loss of sync , increase in ping

last week i had a no dial tone, was fixed (telephone engineer), have 50% less sync , so also 50% drop in ip profile., having a broadband engineer out Monday

at the min i have a 2.5mb ip profile , which is correct for the 3264 sync

at times my line is not even " acting like a 2.5mb line would", so sometimes i will have a ping of between 400 to 600 ms and a speed of between 0.40mb to 0.80mb , other times will be okay for a bit, ping around 50 ms , speed about 2.3mb

i assume the same fault is causing these problems , can any see anything from the stats below ?

(You've got a typo, sync is 3264 not 32634. You can edit for up to 12 hours).

I assume you have rebooted the router at some stage? Have you tried a Factory reset on it as well?

yes i have and had 3 different routers all syncing about the same as above, and have same problem ,

i assume what ever is causing the low sync is also causing at times why i can not get near the speed of the current ip profile and also causing pings to be massively high

After having a line fault I'm guessing there's still a problem - going by the ES/SES count...

Yes - your lower sync will cause a lower IP Profile.

Have you kept records of your router stats before the line fault for comparison?

Can you see problems with the stats that could be causing the problems mentioned.?

i forgot to add , after the telephone engineer left ,,i rang the ISP who did a line test and the Fault came back as "battery".

the strange thing IS when the ISP did a line test the next it did not come back with a fault.

is a "battery" fault the type that can be present on the line, but not ALWAYS picked up on line test?

Because quite often whatever caused the line fault manages to screw the router runtime firmware or config file. Only a factory reset sorts that out as it reloads the original and the original config.

It isn't the issue in this case, from the OP's reply.

i did not keep records as such,but looked at the basic stats almost every other day.

these are the current basic stats

Line Attenuation 39.0 db 20.5 db
Noise Margin 5.8 db 21.0 db

when working properly the only difference to the above obviously would be the sync which would be between around 6800 to 7300 , depending on if and when they router was rebooted.

i have had the above above types of syncs for years (6800 to 7300 ), and my line has generally performed very well.

"battery" - Sounds like you've still got a line fault to me, I would hold off on resetting your router...

Well one good thing apparent from the full stats is that the attenuation should give those higher speeds. So you haven't been swapped to a far inferior pair at the cabinet.
