I can't help but wonder if the committee will decide that a nice BB levy is in order.

Pay attention to the faux pas on the on the 90% target date. At current rate and it has been that way for a while now Dec 2015/Jan 2016 will see the 24 Mbps 90% target hit.

With projects awarding money to non BT firms now, the debate over final 5% and Universal Service Obligations gets more difficult.

How far will the levy actually go?

You know the Cabrach exchange - serving well under 50 premises. That would probably need 4 or 5 cabinets and major ductwork to install them. Say £50k per cabinet and 10 potential users. With a 50% uptake just 5 per cabinet meaning about £10k per user.

50p/month or £6 pa - after admin say £5 meaning it would take 2000 existing users a year to pay for it.

Internet in the Cabrach? The Cabrach is for adventure. Or for digging snow all winter.

Need to make sure the Grouse Inn has not run dry!


Seriously though, it is places like that which are the last 2% and are uneconomic to provide service to in the near future! It would probably be just as cheap - or possibly cheaper to provide all of the properties with FTTP.
