Having just moved over from adsl to adsl2+ , my Line Attenuation has increased by 4 , have tried two routers and both report the increase , is it normal for the Line Attenuation to increase , when moving from adsl to adsl2+ ,?
many thanks

Yes, because the frequency range has been doubled - that why you see an effective doubling of the attenuation.

if/when the sync speeds changes does the ip profile update almost immediately on adsl2+?
Yes. But if you are on Plusnet, their Current Line Speed still takes a few hours.
The indispensable man or woman passes from the scene, and what happens next is more or less the same thing as was happening before.
My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk. Domains, site and mail hosting - Tsohost.
Connection - AAISP Home::1 80/20. Sync 57584/13846kbps @ 600m. - BQM

If Plusnet is still your ISP you will see your current PN line speed via this link when you've signed into the PN portal.

Why is there still a delay between Plusnet's profile updating and the IP profile updating. Still don't understand this...

The PN line on this at one time,which may now have changed,used to be that they didn't get many updates/reports in the day from BT

Why do they even need it in the first place?
They need it for traffic prioritisation.

They like to manage their network?

If I want to prioritise my traffic I'll do it myself thanks.

Then don't get a connection from PlusNet.

Then don't get a connection from PlusNet. Probably good advice at the moment. You're okay as long as you're on a good gateway but some people appear to change gateways every other week and they often end up on one of the naff ones. The issue has been ongoing since January. Also their support seems to have gone back to being 'a bit pants' if you're unlucky enough to need it.
I'm only sticking with them because I tend to stay on the same gateway for months at a time and almost never need support so it's not huge inconvenience. I'm out of contract now though so if the situation deteriorates I'll be gone pretty sharpish.
