Hi,
About a year ago our village got enabled for fttc via bduk.
Recently OR have attended the pole outside my house and left a big loop of fibre cable/trunking (thick black cable with yellow stripe) tied to the pole. I assume this is for fttp....however everyone served by that pole can already get fttc.
Any ideas what bt might be upto?

Maybe someone has managed to order FTTPoD?

No mention of fttp or fttpod on the availability checker. (Checked a few numbers an addresses on that pole)

If FTTC isn't very good in the area might be an FTTP overlay.
Could also be delivery of FTTP to a school or other public sector facility.
Lastly a leased line to a local business.

Most likely what Ignitionnet said, for a private business circuit.

Thanks for the replies.
The strange thing is that there is no businesses connected to the pole.....just residential addresses (i can see where the drops go).
Its possible that this is the first pole where the fibre appears from.undergrpund and will then be daisy chained further down the street to other poles and premises.....but they are all residential. (Its only a small village)

If VDSL2 speeds are sub 24 Mbps then may be FTTP infill, without an indication of the postcode involved its speculation

Possibly....but i doubt it. Its a 2nd hand car lot and they can already get the full 80/20 fttc if they wanted it

Sorry, yes, I was just about to edit it.
There's Roadstar Transport at Wolvey Lodge, The Square. But the few I've checked all have good FTTC, as you say, and I don't see any of those with FTTPoD available. So it looks more like a leased line as others have suggested. Maybe the post office?

Several possibilities, but unlikely to be FTTP . Larger doctors practices may still use leased lines but most of the smaller ones probably using broadband services where they have good connections.
Likely to be a leased line for something, possibly a roof based cell site or a PIA order

Will just be a business Ethernet circuit (leased line).
