Like what lee111s said, its a DP but for your copper line (i.e. your phone line)

What is this
Why is this box open? Could you report it to Openreach if an engineer isnt onsite please?
Does look like a DP in that clip joint, judging by those 2 or 5 pair cables that are probably heading to each of the houses.

because i wanted to have a look where my line goes because my line [censored]

So, you are saying you opened the chamber ... is that correct?

yes my friend did

Your friend are NOT allow to open it. You could faced serious trouble and legal action by Openreach if your friend did open it.

Whoops! Agreed with adslmax on this one, I'm afraid!

And given the number of thefts of copper wiring, if seen lifting a chamber a good chance of it being reported and police arriving

Words fail me. Interferon with BT plant, causing a possible hazard, ... I could go on.
Would you be happy with people turning up and opening your garage - just to see what was there?
And in one post you claim "a friend did" and in another "I did not know" - an imaginary friend maybe? one who shares your name and shoes?

So the thing is, and heres the thing ....
You have illegally opened a footway box, what you were hoping to achieve is beyond me, since you dont even recognise what it it is you have exposed ... shut the lid, carefully, and hope none of your neighbours have sobbed you in. Eejit.

can i just ask how dirty is ok for it to get lid was not propley anyways because dirt round edge

Because these joints are designed to live underground. Dirt on the outside is no reflection on the interior.
is it easy for them replace the line ?
Which bit ?
There needs to be a plausible reason. What is actually wrong with your service ?
are my stats ok
dsl stats
What are they in old money ?
Youve still not said what is actually the problem you are experiencing ?
What equipment are you using, and whats the set up, whats connected where ?
Stats are fine for a 40/10 service. Uptime 24 days. No problems.

Underground plant needs a combination of clue of what you are looking at and a legal requirement to test for gas. Probably best left alone.
If the DP is waterproof whats the point?

It may or may not be a DP ( no way can you tell by that pic ) It is a UG ( Under Ground ) joint in fact a large ped cap UCJ ( Universal Clip Joint )
As to the fool who open the box to take the pic , well he is one sad fool.
Ps looks like the box is a Joint Box 26
