Hopefully this is my final Post connected to this.
I signed up with another ISP and BT were notified by the new ISP.
On the 5th July BT told me 'Sorry you're leaving us'.
My new ISP service starts on 20th July.
My speed with BT was always 50 Mbps from day one.
One week ago 28th June my speed has dropped by 10 Mbps and has kept at this reduced speed to date 14th July.
So for 60 days(initial) speed was 50Mbps and NOW it has changed.
I wonder why?????????
Two separate speed checkers were involved, Thinkbroadband and Which.

Lots of possible reasons including crosstalk from neighbours with newly enabled connections, through a possible line fault to your having booted your modem/router too frequently and DLM has done its "thing". Details such as any changes in line attenuation or SNRM could help narrow down the possibilities.
What I am pretty sure about is that your having decided to change ISP will have had zero impact on the speed of your connection although once connected to your new ISP that speed might well change due to your then having a different backhaul.

Noted reply.
Speed has dropped further by 6 to 7 Mbps since yesterday.
BT remains supplier until 20th July.
BT Router has never been switched off since installation on 19th April.
This is day nine of a further drop in speed.
I cannot agree with BT being notified of leaving and the speed having dropped as being other than the 'doing' of BT.
Will await new supplier's service and allow time to settle down as advised.

I cannot agree with BT being notified of leaving and the speed having dropped as being other than the 'doing' of BT. I take it you also believe that fairies live at the end of your garden and the moon is made of blue cheese? If what you believe were to be true BT would have been hauled before the courts long ago and OFCOM would be on the case.

What speeds does your new ISP promise?
While BT will provide 50Mbps some other ISPs have lower standard speeds, often around 40Mbps or even less

Answering your question, my new ISP offering is LESS than BT's by about 40Mbps.
As advised in previous post, will allow plus minus 10 days from start of new ISP to settle down 'as advised'.
Time will tell.
(As posted initially I objected to having signed up for an 18 month contract and within 68 days later being advised of a price increase).

As I suggested previously, have you since turned off your modem/router for 30 minutes? This equipment can get in a mess for a variety of reasons, and a simple power cycle can often resolve them.
Normally just a couple of minutes power down is sufficient, but in the light of your descriptions earlier of progressive speed drops the 30 minutes that other people routinely recommend may be better. Answering your question, my new ISP offering is LESS than BT's by about 40Mbps. 50-40 = 10. Is your new ISP only offering 10Mbps?
And, to repeat what several others have said, on FTTC there is no 10-day settling in period. Whatever you read elsewhere.

I blame the ISP for this confusion, BT even says this for FTTP, even when I told them their isn't for FTTP and that I will always connect up as the speed that I am paying for.
I also went on to say that the upto 10 days dates back to ADSL days.
Sadly BT still insist there is a up to 10 days settling peroid, so I just ignore that.

Thanks for your advice.
As I am being changed to new supplier on the 20th July, I am wary of changing/risk in case there is no immediate improvement.
Have two days to go.
Speed continues to drop from initial 50 Mbps.
Today 16th July it is now 34 Mbps.

It's a pity you seem unwilling to name your new ISP. We may be able to advise on its fault-fixing procedures compared to BT Consumer's.
Am I right in assuming you still haven't tried turning off your modem/router for a bit then restarting it? That is the standard action every person advising you on these forums would have taken ages ago.
If that is all that is needed, we will never know, as your change to a new modem/router with your new ISP will de facto achieve the result that would achieve if that is where the cause of the slowdown lies.
If however there is a fault on the line, your new ISP may be either good or poor at fixing it.

I still don't see what your new contract promises in the way of speed
Can you tell us which ISP you have joined and what speeds they promise?
Many ISP contracts offer speeds around 35Mbps
