"Chimney" on Cab Box?

I noted in town the other day what I thought was a BT Cabinet with some sort of retrospective ventilation added. Seeing that I had never seen anything quite like it before I thought I'd ask the guys (and ladies) on here.

It looked anout 12" wide around 6" tall and the depth of around the cabinet itself. The front face of it was mainly taken up by a coarse mesh grill from what I remember.
That's 30 x 15cm in new money. It centrally sat on the top of the cabinet.

I did get an average quality picture of it on my phone camera, but haven't any quick access to somewhere to host it right now. I'm guessing someone might say "Yep I know what that is......." without needing a picture. Plus it may be a far more common sight in some areas - I have no idea on this one.
