Leicester Cab Upgrade?

I noticed today that there was some local work going on in my area I could see a very small old green cab being worked on by tel2net. I checked roads-works and got the following details:

Highway Authority: Leicester City Council
Location: HINCKLEY ROAD JUNCTION OF MEADHURST ROAD ADJ. NO. 2, HINCKLEY ROAD
Description: Perm reinstatement
Permit status: Granted
Works ref: BC006TI001MW500270351301
Current status: Planned work about to start

Small Green Cab


I know I am connected to Cab 50 which is quite far away from me, the small green cab in the picture is much closer to me.... Cab 50 is over 300m away whereas this small one is around 100m

Can anyone confirm if Cab 50 below is enabled for G fast the checker says its not. Also note there is another green cab right next to these 2 that says "BT Super Fast Broadband"

Cab 50 on LEICESTER MONTFORT may have a physical GFAST pod attached but does not appear to be live yet.
The cab close to cab 50 will be the VDSL2 cabinet

Thanks for the reply, that's a shame! I'll keep an eye on roadworks as I've noticed a lot of work going on in my area with cabs being reshelled etc.

It looks like they are adding a few GFAST pods to the cabs round here, mine (43) has been re-shelled to accommodate the pod (it was one like the one you show).

Still no news on the actual availability though, but remember you need to be within 300M line length to see any benefit, and actually place an order.

After checking every week since January I have realized that Cab 50 is live and G fast enabled, I found this out after checking a few properties close to the Cab..

However, I am too far from the Cab to benefit and therefore its not available to me!

So if your waiting for G fast services I recommend you check properties near to the cab to verify if your cab is live!
