Probably a question for BT guys, I've noticed a bit of BT work in the area and according to Roadworks.org the detail is Clearing Blockages.
Would this be routine maintenance or could they be updating some area's to FTTP?

Stechford is on the FTTP roll-out list and has some areas live already, so prep work for FTTP is likely

Not always, it could be them just clearing their underground ducts to clear space for infrastructure like copper or fibre between agg nodes, slitters or towards cabinets, but yeah it "could" still be for FTTP.
I know when I saw them doing that near me it was FTTC and not FTTP.

Interesting. I noticed a fibre warning sticker on the pole next to the FTTC cab thought it was just a one off FTTP connection.
They're meant to be working on the pole outside my house, so I'll ask if I see them

You cannot always go by that sticker on the phone pole, our pole as fibre coming from it yet we don't have any fibre stickers on it.

The pole next to the FTTC cab has a bundle of cable/fibre ready to install (hanging off one of the foot holds). Nice if it happens considering it wasn't a viable Cab until I emailed Clive Selley.

Not sure if this is relevant but recently this label appeared on the pole outside my house.

A1024 labels/tags were (and looks like they still are) a simple way to let other BT engineers know about a defect that has already been identified on that piece of equipment. Hopefully helping to prevent other engineers reporting the same issue up their management chain (think there probably is a A1024 app on engineers smart phones now), they use to be bright yellow in colour and expired after 6 months. I can't read what it says but hopefully somebody will be round to fix the defect and will then remove the label/tag

Appears to be low drop wire. Lots of poles will be tested prior to overhead fibre being installed.

In my area. The FTTP (survey/duct clearing) work started in July 2018. The FTTP become available to order on the 25th of December 2018.
I had it installed on the 25th of January 2019. So It shouldn't be too long, before it's available.
ISP: BT - FTTP 330Mb/50Mb
ISP: PlusNet - FTTC - 80Mb/20Mb

Good to know, as I mentioned earlier I'm really surprised it might be coming considering how the area wasn't economically viable for years.
