Password for phone number authorised line

[link to this post]

Anyone know the password for a phone number authorised line please? [blank], password and install all fail. I was under the impression that anything would work as the authentication was done on the line, but this doesn't seem to be the case. frown

Shell Energy seem to use 01*********@first-utility.com rather than the 01*********@talktalk.net I thought they would have. The password they put into the router they sent is hidden. frown

What is a "phone number authorised line" - google doesn't seem to come up with any useful responses?

I *think* hes on about a username for the router ... some CPs use the directory number of the landline as the part before the @ of the username.

But I could be wrong, I often am.

Unless TT have changed they dont look at the username, they pick up the fact it is one if their lines so just need the account password.

IIRC BT Consumer used to be similar, not even needing a password, or it was/is the same for all users.

My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk. Domains, site and mail hosting - Tsohost.
Connection - Three 4G, tbb tests normally 35-45Mpbs down, 65Mbps off-peak, 9-24 up.

Yes, it was [email protected] and a password of a single space.

See Robert's reply a bit further down. Line authentication?

Umm, thanks.

Will try the account password. wink

Think I used [email protected] with install as password for NowTV.
