Broadband download issues

[link to this post]

Morning all,

I have a very strange problem which I will try my best to explain the issue. So about a month ago I noticed the issue I have nothing has change the I am aware of at my end.

The issue is when I download anything of a significant size the download takes up all of my ISP speed and everything else in my network gets a speed of around 1mb. The download is anything from steam, xbox, playstation, from my sky box etc. I dont have QOS set up which I am looking at setting up however I don't believe I need to do this because I haven't needed it before.

My ISP is Sky and I am using my own TP-Link router however I have tried 2 different routers from my ISP and it hasn't made any difference. I know it's a bizarre issue and one I haven't come across before.

If anyone can help that would be amazing. Thanks,

If one thing is using all the speed then its normal to find other activity being slow, since there is no spare capacity for other activity

Why you've not seen this before no idea.
