I have FTTC connection (VSDL), I had the HH4 and was getting speeds around 14mbs as I am over a mile away from the cabinet. I have just installed a vigor 130 modem which I have put into bridge mode and ASUS gaming router. My download speeds have dropped to around 7mb? I checked the sync speed on the modem and it was 7000kb I believe why is this?

What were you using for a VDSL modem with HH4 ?

No with an ASUS AX86U router

If you log into the Vigor 130, click on "Online Status and then Physical Connection and see what the SNR(m) values are. The odds are that they used to be around 3dB, but that the number has gone up. So once you have that figure take your current SNR and subtract 3 from it and multiply the result by 10. Now take that figure open Vigor 130 console and type vdsl snr -(the figure you calculated) the router will re-establish a connection, and see what your speeds are!

What were you using for a VDSL modem with HH4 ? I’m guessing they are actually on ADSL??

The OP states in the opening post that it is VDSL, but a separate VDSL modem was required for the HH4, hence my query.

Maybe it’s a 5 ?

Have you changed provider? That could be the (temporary) reason for the speed drop. But don't keep re-sync'ing in the hope of improvement. That would cause a longer wait for better to come back.
Zarjaz was asking what modem you used with the HH4. That could be relevant.

Could be. The easy way to spot from afar is the strip across the middle of the front of item. Black on a 4 metallic blue on a 5

No same provider, I didn’t have a modem with the hoke hub 4 as it was a router modem combo

I have also had a drop in speed, not as much as PaDawg, when my SNR went from 5 to 6 due to power problems. I tred the have also had a drop in speed, not as much when my SNR went from 5 to 6 due to power problems. I tried the above (using 10) and it increased my SNR twice to 7 first time, redid it using 7 and 5 (using 20) and then got 8. Luckily I had thought to make a backup so went back to that but the sync speed is down a bit as a result. Not sure what I did wrong?

Then it wasn’t a Home Hub 4, or you were on ADSL

Hi, I had a home hub 6 sorry for the typo.

The SNR Upstream and Downstream are both 5dB
