Wifi eminating from rural Open Reach poles??

[link to this post]

Being in a not spot, it was interesting to find that Open Reach were paying some attention to the copper wire installation locally some time ago. It was about this time we also discovered that there was a Wi-Fi spot in the vicinity of one of the poles. Presumably, this is for monitoring and control purposes. Is this usual and how could it affect security, both locally and webwise, to those using the ADSL service etc.

How have you determined there's a Wi-Fi device on a pole?

Is it "BT WiFi" and are you sure its not coming from a router in a building very close to the pole?
