Reports that FTTP not yet enabled for this exchange although adjoining ones (e.g. MYWAK) are.
Can't find anywhere details of when it will be amongst the Openreach documentation.
According to ThinkBroadband Sandal is already enabled for FTTP and it appears that a number of premises near to it already get OpenReach FTTP. What makes you think it isn't enabled?
Have a look at TBB Maps and the OpenReach FTTP coverage in the area.
Following your suggestion to look at TBB Maps, it shows FTTP/FTTH as not available for my postcode. My postcode is WF27LR. Zen Internet tell me they cannot deliver I GB service. If I go on to the BT website and use their availability checker, I am presented with a single package offering 30Mb download only.

Unfortunately it is just waiting until one of the providers decides the commercial case is high enough to deliver to your postcode. There is a difference between an exchange being enabled (which it is) and an individual premises being enabled (which unfortunately yours isn't). FTTPoD used to have some traction for getting connected but the costs of it mean that most people that could justify doing it have done so - hopefully your premises will be in the 25 million that OpenReach are targeting by end of 2026 or an alt net will decide it is a good bet.
Looks like there is OpenReach FTTP all around you but for some reason OpenReach have skipped your road and a few others - maybe there is some issue in your very local area that made it non-viable.
In case you are not aware, FTTPoD typically casts thousands of pounds to install.

Ah yes; I've made an enquiry but I suspect you're right.
In the meantime, Zen Internet confirm they will provide fibre connection to the cabinet but limited to 300Mb due they say to cabinet capacity issues, with an upgrade to 900Mb when the capacity is sorted (no date for that, unfortunately).
So, not a bad outcome.
Thanks everybody for your replies which I foiund very helpful.
