Wireless Router - IE Issue

[link to this post]

Hello Good People!!

I have replaced my wired router with a D-LINK DSL-924 Wireless Router http://www.dixons.co.uk/martprd/store/dix_page.jsp?BV_SessionID=@@@@1922530651.1162295894@@@@&BV_EngineID=ccchaddjffjmifkcflgceggdhhmdgmk.0&page=Product&fm=null&sm=null&tm=null&sku=568710&category_oid=
I have configured the router and the USB adapter that came with the router, however I now have to issue with IE. I have to open IE twice to be able to connect to the internet!! The first time I open IE it just spends ages on a blank screen with the status bar slowly creeping up, however if I open IE again (with the first IE window still open) it fires straight up and I can surf without any issues at all.

I know the obvious work around is to open IE twice but it shouldn't be doing it in the first place!! I have disabled my Anti Virus and Firewall (including the Windows Firewall) but it still keeps doing it!!

Help!!!

Also, my ISP is Metronet if that helps?

Many Thanks in advance.

Are there any PPP timeout, or disconnect on idle options in the router set-up - turn these off

MrSaffron - Thanks for that, I'll have a look and post back if it works or not.

Cheers
