Darn BT engineers

[link to this post]

I phoned up BT 3 weeks ago to activate my socket in my bedroom, I got told conflicting things, that no engineer was needed as it showed up on their computers, then the next person I spoke to said an engineer was needed, and I had to wait 3 weeks for 1 to be available.

Anyway I was advised that one would arrive today in the morning after 9, well I was woken up at 7.30am by loud banging, and even then, they only knocked on door once(im a light sleeper) and as I got to door person was leaving, and I shouted hello, but he ignored me.

I think he was just lazy and didnt want to do work.

Anyway im about to phone bt to hear what they say!

Just checked my answerphone, and the engineer phoned at 7.30 to say he was coming around(fair enough) still he didnt give me a chance to answer door!

Anyway the line is making outgoing calls fine, now I just have to wait for BT to update postcode so I can sign up for BB(Im at uni at moment)

Any idea on how long this takes?

Also the engineer said on phone he connected it up outside.

Still I dont know if I have to pay the fee.

So you got the line connected, and half an hour before the engineers start time, they rang ahead, you didn't answer, and then they knocked, and you didn't answer quick enough .... where's your beef ?
