Virgin media - false advertising

Now, I don't know if these adverts are only in my area, or are nationwide, but I am extremely shocked by Virgins latest ad campaign as it is so misleading it is unbelievable.

The ads in my area (in newspapers and on billbords) just say something like "Virgin media - the fastest UK broadband". Now, from what I know, the fastest Virgin offer is 20Mbps. Which is clearly, slower than BE's up to 24Mbps service, and is so misleading.

I realise with ADSL2+ (which is what BE use) that is is very unlikely that you will get over 20Mbps - but the fact remains - some people can.

Has anyone seen these ads or have an opinion?

I'm in the mood to write a letter to Virgin Media and OFCOM right now.

I believe they are doing 50 Mbps trials - perhaps they already offer a 30 Mbps service?

Not sure about trials - but the fastest you can sign up for on the website is Size: XL, which is up to 20Mbps.

Not only that, something else that annoys me is that they advertising it on billbords in my area, yet we can't get virgin media cable anywhere near here. And I live in a small village at the top of a south wales valley, so its not like the adverts can appeal to commuters (because the only people who driver through here, are the people who live here).
