they use BT IPStream so its available countrywide. I believe it is actually a BT Wholesale "White label" service branded by the PO. Support is from Ireland so you can actually hear and understand them. They supply Netgear kit which appears to auto-configure.

POP3 / SMTP mail servers seem to be a bit of a mystery at the moment.

Wonder if they do a first and second class service.

Do they loose loads of packets only for them to turn up a week late.. unless its spam then it gets through no problem?

Do their systems ever stage wildcat strikes?

Oh Dear

Don't forget 3rd Class - ParcelFarce where they shove a card through your postbox without ringing the bell inviting you to go round to their place anything up to 40 miles away to collect or spend 3 hours on a phone that never gets answered trying to arrange redelivery.

Do they really think they have a good brand name they can use to resell umpteen services on commission? Perhaps if they concentrated on their core business it wouldn't be so dire.

same mistake - Post Office runs the shops, Royal Mail is the delivery service.

A more appropriate joke about Post Office Broadband would be that it only has one port open at lunchtime.

I am still waiting for my router & a new live date as my original date of 5/12/07 has now gone. How do I go about cancelling what I have not yet received of their broadband?

I have just cancelled my broadband with PO. They told me that they never received my order yet they sent me letters saying I was going live on 5/12/07 & that a router was on its way.
