Re: Problems leaving Be

In no disrespect when I signed up they did mention this on the site, I think I even saw it on a few e-mails I was sent and customer service did explain clearly what was going on, in all fairness they have a pretty clear policy which I think most of their users are made aware of.

I had to leave the connection as I was moving house and had to pay the £40 fee.

In any terms if you stay for three months you're either going to burn up £40/£52.50/£64.50 worths of cash so it's a good way out.

I'd pay the £40. It took them over six months to cease my line when I gave my notice.

Obviously they make no real big fanfare of this disconnection fee until it's time to disconnect. Then it suddenly appears before your eyes. When you sign up, you're so excited that you might get a good, reliable, trustworthy and fast internet service, that you might miss the details. When the reality hits that Be is actually one of the most mediocre ISPs out there, it's way too late.

Trust me though, it's well worth £40; consider it a get-out-of-jail forfeit. Be will also harass you with despicably rude e-mails about returning the "BeBox" so make sure you send it back immediately.
What on earth has upset you so much that you make clearly ludicrous statements like that?

Ah - I have now read all your posts since registering. Looks like you were better off at Be than where you are now. Especially as the temporary problems you had there seem to have been sorted out for everybody else.

I now understand "When you sign up, you're so excited that you might get a good, reliable, trustworthy and fast internet service, that you might miss the details." Calmness, aforethought and rationality don't seem to be your strong points do they?

They still send me texts saying my credit card has expired even though it was a year since I cancelled my service with them frown

A bit poor, but your complaint is a long way from calling them one of the "most mediocre" ISPs. Anyway, I bet it's true that the card has expired tongue.

You're a fanboi, well done. You stick with your puppetmasters, you're doing well.
Isn't that the standard lamer response by someone who has lost the argument?

Comparison with good ISPs.
Comparison with mediocre ISPs. (The inclusion of Enta in both is deliberate).
Comparison with poor ISPs.
