In reply to a post by DeviIman:
Unfortunatly what I really need now is another rainy day so that I can conduct some test-socket checks and quiet-line checks to see if the problem is indeed related to rainwater, but as luck would have it, its a bright sunny day outside and coincidentally, I have no errors showing in router stats on Upstream or Downstream.
I'm doin a rain-dance as we speak lol...smile

Seriously though, once the rain starts and assuming you start to get a ton of errors, set your router up on the test socket with a couple of extra filters and dsl cables (so that you can interchange them) to determine if the fault lies within your equipment or with your ISP or Openreach. Either way, even if you start to get the errors again without any rain or moist atmospheric conditions you still need to confirm where the fault lies. Don't forget to try different filters, cables and possibly a different router if you have one spare when doing the check on the test socket.

I can feel the rain coming....laugh

Good luck!!

Hmm, well with any luck it'll rain soon and I can check things again to see if I get a sudden explosion in errors.. I am also considerin buying an XTE-2005 faceplate, just to eliminate the need of filters etc.. (and itll remove the ADSL frequency from the extentions etc.. incase they are causing any issues (but I havent seen any evidence to suggest they are now).

Ive also been toying with the idea of scrapping my smoothwall box (using a BeWan PCI ADSL card) in favour of buying a Netgear DG834 .v4 so that I can keep a real-time check on the SnR etc.. but can also see the bitswapping and (possibly if needed) tweak the Target SNR in the router lower (as its already jumped up 3dB due to the troubles)
