OpenReach work on my street caused SNR decrease?

Hi all, I noticed this weekend my sync speed has dropped from around 13000k to 9212k (6.4dB SNR on the lower sync speed) , this is with sky broadband.

Now fair enough I am paying for "up to" 20MB with them, so technically im getting what i paid for.

I happened to notice the same day (before my sync speed dropped) that there was an openreach van down the street doing work on one of the telegraph poles (not the one i am served by), possibly the cause or just a serious coincidence?!

Any BT guys able to shed some light maybe? I realise its kinda moany but come on its dropped by 3 meg!?

When I had a second line installed the attenuation on my *first* line increased 4db at the same time, causing about a 3mb speed drop.

Nothing you can do, as it's all within spec and as long as it works BT won't touch it.

I think 'any' work on your street can cause this, when gas work was done on my street I had a significant impact on my speed and stability.

That's what happens when you have such as rudimentary phone network.
